Baby!

So this was supposed to be my weight loss journey blog, but looks like that'll have to be put on hold for nine months or so since Michael and I found out we were pregnant on Mother's Day!

It was totally weird and unexpected. Yes, we had been trying but took the month off. I guess practice really does make perfect! It's something we've wanted for for so long, it feels too good to be true and like it could be taken away at any moment.

So in the morning when I took it, I was so shocked, I followed it up by taking 4 more tests, all of which said the same thing!

Michael and I laid in bed and just kind of stared at the test together. The line was faint, but definately was there. Truth be told, I took another test the following morning, and the morning after that. The line just kept getting darker as I went.

So now we're trying to wrap our head around baby and have so many plans to make, I'm trying to relax and not feel overwhelmed!

Michael's priorites have completely changed and he's already applied for an office job. He's going to have to get the 1964 Chrysler he bought up and running, since I don't want to be without wheels the majority of the time. I have places to go and things to prepare for!

Cross fingers and say prayers that he'd get it, because this job would be perfect!

Yesterday was a bit tough. I just felt completely scatterbrained, and anytime I did anything, I required a one hour nap afterwards. Like Groceries and going to the gym. At the gym I only really swam so didn't think it'd have such a big effect on me, but it did. I'm only going about 3 times a week right now, as I dont want to push myself too hard.

My first doctor's appointment is May 26th so until then I'm going to try to keep busy and not worry about every little thing that could go wrong, but it's hard!

Fire Pit at JULIE'S

We had a great time at Julie's house on Sunday! It was so much fun to see everybody and for parts of D1 to still be together. I see Julie alot, but it's not everyday I got to see, Val, Kate, and Dan, let alone all under one, um...sky?

Michael got to do his favorite thing ever: build fires! Which of course meant he had to put the fire pit together and gather many sticks:

Val's son, Nic, was captivated by this experience and really wanted to help out. Michael was plenty happy to have a little helper.

After their long setup process, they got to chill together side by side next to the roaring fire:

The crew back together again, except for JULIE who was taking the photo :( We need to get a tripod or something for group photos:

Here is a semi-group shot where Julie is in the middle of the action.

And Michael talking to some of his old peeps.

10 lbs by June 27th

This kind of goal should be manageable, at least I hope so! Over the last several months by weight has yo-yo'ed up and down between 230-235 without any real success of getting below that dreaded 230 number.

Maybe my scale is broken?

Anyway, I bought a pretty dress with a nice lining so it twirls when you dance and spin, and want to wear it to a wedding on June 27th. It fits, but it probably could fit better and my arms could definately look alot nicer in it! So I'm working on losing 10 lbs before the wedding. After that I'll set another mini-goal.

My gym routine is pretty much 6 days a week, but I'm pretty sure I don't push myself as hard as I could, which I'm working on improving. I'm using more weights (heavier) and doing those dreaded core routines. ouch!

Here are a few pictures I took of me today at 230 lbs. ARF! How did that number get so high? Though truthfully it's pretty much on the low side for the last 3 years.

So I look at that and I think, that's not so bad. Where is all that weight coming from?

Oh, there it is! It's all in the booty and the belly! Argh. If only we could chop them off.
